It was a Monday and I was around Mount Austin during lunch time looking for something to eat. As a lot of restaurants have sprung up around the water park, this was prime ground to go restaurant hunting. I settled on Tabushi Ramen which is just behind Sushi Zento.
Sushi Zento in Mount Austin is one of my favourite places to go for Japanese food in JB. In comparison to Kampachi (check out my review here), the food quality is quite on par, but the prices are cheaper than Kampachi – and that’s a very good thing!
Anne Elizabeth, A Deli Restaurant in Cheras?!! I’m as shocked as the next Cheras kia. Finally, someone sees the potential for unique western dining experiences here in this chinese-food dominated part of KL South. *Does a happy dance*
Finally the Pho craze has hit Singapore! Nam Nam Noodle Bars are sprouting up all over SG like mushrooms after the rain. I won’t call it the best pho I’ve ever eaten, but I’d say that at least it helps temper my cravings. I’ve always had a pho craving when the weather is rainy and […]
So… I have this hang-up about cafes and the food they offer. Waffles? Eggs Benedict? Nutella cake?!! *shakes head* I can make them myself. Same goes for pasta… I eat an awful lot of that at home. But after listening to a very trusted foodie relative of ours actually recommending lunch at gCafe, DH and […]
Once again, mom and dad the foodies have lead me to another gem. This time in old downtown JB, a place where I had the misconception of being just a “Little India”. Restaurant Hua Mui is located at the junction of Jalan Trus and Jalan Dhoby. With it being in the city, finding a parking […]
Belgian food… first thing that comes to mind? Chocolates. However, that’s not what I had for lunch at Setia Walk in Puchong. It was a family gathering, and DH was hankering for meat, so that’s why we ended up there.
Blink and you will miss it. Burgertory was hidden inconspicuously above Guardian, one row before Maybank. I only noticed it when a large group of college students went up. Naturally we followed suit. There were posters proclaiming that they had the best pork burger in town *stomach rumbles*
According to Kampachi, they are one of the top five Japanese restaurants in Malaysia, as noted by The Miele Guide To Asia’s Finest Restaurants for 2011/12. So, as we’re famished from walking around the premium outlets at Johor, we decided to treat ourselves to a big lunch!
We had our annual christmas lunch at Joan Bowen Cafe – a cafe that employs and trains youths with special needs so that they can develop healthy self-respect and hopefully contribute to society. You can read more about their good work here.
Part of the Oriental Group of Restaurants, The Han Room is tucked in a quiet corner of the Gardens Mall where The Gardens Hotel & Residences is located. Once again, my parents the foodies brought us there for lunch. I swear that if my parents were food bloggers, they would be super famous by now. […]
Sometimes when I think JB can’t surprise me anymore, I happily find myself being proven wrong! Good italian food (omfg) in a city dominated by a plethora of uninspiring asian eating outlets.
My parents introduced us to this Japanese restaurant for it’s affordable meals and so we made our way there on a Saturday night and without a reservation. Wrong move – the restaurant was so full, people were dining out in the walkway!
